G-volution Ltd wins prestigious award at the World LPG Associations’ Global Technology Conference in Rome
November 2023
G-volution Ltd were category winners for Applications – Power Generation having demonstrated the use of Bio LPG to power the auxiliary load of a Class 37 locomotive via a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell. The award was presented to G-volution CEO Chris Smith and Shimon Shapiro at the WLPGA Global Technology Conference in Rome.
First Dual Fuel Genset Demonstrator for Nigeria

G-volution are pleased to announce delivery of the first dual fuel genset demonstrator for the Nigerian market. The Greaves 250 kVA unit has been commissioned by G volution India in Mumbai and is now on route to Lagos to be marketed by G-volutions business partner Raypower Energy and Solutions Ltd.

Colas Rail UK’s Freight Business has collaborated with G-Volution Ltd to decarbonise locomotive operations by using solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) running on near net zero carbon emission Bio Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Bio LPG) to generate power for auxiliary load.
Fresh Air Fuels Global – A new Biofuel trading division

G-Volution Ltd has partnered with Cape Advanced Engineering South Africa (CAE) to form a new trading division, Fresh Air Fuels Global, with the aim of introducing the CAE technology to international markets that the G-Volution already have a foothold, constructing Anaerobic Digestion plants and creating carbon neutral biofuel from waste that can be used in dual fuel engines. G-volution Ltd announces a new joint venture with Molecular Energies Plc to demonstrate dual fuel diesel engines with green hydrogen. The joint venture company, Dual Fuel Ltd, will initially concentrate on deploying the dual fuel technology for use in heavy vehicles in Paraguay – see full press release here.

G-volution Ltd have been awarded a contract to demonstrate decarbonisation in the UK Rail Sector
The winners have been announced for the First of a Kind (FOAK) 2022 Rail competition by Department for Transport, Innovate UK, and The Rt Hon Mark Harper MP
As part of the Rail Freight theme G-volution Ltd will demonstrate “Decarbonising Auxiliary Load in Rail Freight Today”
G-Volution Ltd are the lead contactor for a project worth £378,000
Working with COLAS Rail, the project will demonstrate high energy-density fuel cells and a carbon neutral bio-liquid petroleum gas fuel system to power auxiliary electric power requirements which account for up to 10-15% of the total power demand on freight trains.
This will remove the need for diesel powertrains to remain powered up or idling during dwell times, which can cause up to 20% of freight locomotive fuel consumption and emissions.
